Anti-Spam (CASL) Policy

Effective October 25, 2026. Last updated October 25, 2026.

In short

We do not send marketing email or texts, and we have no mailing list. We only email people to reply to something they sent us. If you want us to stop, tell us and we will.

1. What We Send

hockeytape.ca is run by Scott Plumptree in Vancouver, British Columbia. We respect Canada’s Anti-Spam Legislation (CASL).

We do not send commercial electronic messages. We have no mailing list and no newsletter, and we do not send text messages.

The only emails we send are replies to people who wrote to us first, for example:

  • A follow-up about a story you sent through the “Share your story” form, if you gave us your email
  • A reply to an advertising enquiry

If we ever plan to send any other kind of message, we will ask for your express consent first and update this policy.

2. Identification

Every reply comes from Scott Plumptree at scott@plumptree.com and makes clear it is about hockeytape.ca.

3. Asking Us to Stop

You can ask us to stop emailing you at any time, at no cost. Reply to any email or write to scott@plumptree.com. We will act on your request within 10 business days.

4. Records

We keep form submissions, including the consent box ticked on the story form, only as long as we need them to review, publish or reply. We delete them on request. We keep a note of any request to stop contacting you so we can honour it.

5. Visitors in the United States

For recipients in the United States, commercial email is governed by the CAN-SPAM Act. We do not send commercial email there either. Where more than one law applies, we follow the stricter standard.
