Buying hockey tape: quick answers.

Where can I buy hockey tape in Canada?

Sporting goods chains and locally owned hockey stores in every province carry it. Pick your province above for the chains with stores there and local stores with addresses.

What tape do I need for a whole stick?

Cloth tape for the blade and knob. Grip tape for the upper shaft is optional. Add stick wax if you play on wet or outdoor ice, and clear or sock tape if you want to hold your shin pads in place.

What width should I buy?

Most cloth hockey tape is about 1 inch (24 to 25 mm) wide, which suits most player blades. 1.5 inch rolls cover goalie blades and build knobs in fewer passes.

How many rolls do I need?

A 24 yard roll of 1 inch cloth tape covers about five to seven full blade jobs before knobs. Goalies should plan on one to two rolls per stick.
